Quilting the light fantastic Exhibition
Friday 18th was set up day for Capital Quilters bi-annual quilting event. This year's event " Quilting the Light Fantastic" is being held in the Horticultual Hall, Laings Road, Lower Hutt. Its a huge task from quilt being submissioned two weeks prior, quilts being catagorised and a catalogue printed. We had 7 hours to hang 160 quilts/items before judging commenced at 2pm on Friday. With the awesome help of club members, husbands and sons we broke the record by having the hall ready for judging by 11.30am.
Exhibition in full swing (below) I'm demonstrating meshwork (above)
Four of my quilts displayed in one bay (bit of a fluke). Iris was awarded Best Original Quilt and Petone Beach (green lip mussel) merit in the Wall Hanging catagory.
